out of reach（初級）

“Until recently, tuition was high enough to put Xavier out of reach for many in Cedar Rapids.”

つい最近まで、授業料が高すぎてザビエル校はシーダーラピッズの多くの家庭には手が届かなかった。

意味

手が届かない、手に入らない、という意味です。金銭的・物理的・能力的に「届かない」状況に幅広く使えます。反対はwithin reach（手の届く範囲に）です。

go all-in on（中級）

意味

〜に全力で取り組む、全てを賭ける、という意味です。ポーカーの「all-in」が語源で、中途半端でなく完全にコミットするニュアンスがあります。

意味

廃止・削減・解雇などの対象として俎上に載せられている、という意味です。もともと「まな板の上」という意味で、転じて「削られる候補」のニュアンスで広く使われます。予算カットや人員削減の文脈でよく登場します。
