cooped up（初級）

“Being cooped up for 42 days could test their patience.”

42日間閉じ込められることは、彼らの忍耐を試すことになるかもしれない。

意味

狭い場所に閉じ込められた・外に出られない状態、という意味です。鶏を鶏小屋（coop）に入れておくイメージから来ており、室内や狭い空間に長時間いることへのストレスや窮屈さを表します。パンデミック中によく使われた表現です。
