throw a lifeline（初級）

そのプログラムの登場は、苦境に立たされていたメイン州の底引き網漁師たちに救いの手を差し伸べた。

意味

助け舟を出す・救済する、という意味のフレーズです。溺れている人に救命ロープを投げるイメージから、危機に瀕している人・事業・組織を救う文脈で使われます。throw a lifeline to 〜 の形でよく使われます。
